For to him that is joined to all the living there is hope: for a living dog is better than a dead lion.
-Ecclesiastes 9:4
The world is full of foolishness, oh Lord, wherein we are greatly confounded. How can we survived such trials and downfalls when we don’t know how to stand on our own feet? Surely, we are not able to bear the burden of life. Nonetheless, life must go on. For if you are at our side we are more than conquerors. Who can stand against the Lord? In truth, there is none!
What a shame, oh man, for you have gone to the path of torment! You have shown to the world how wicked your ways are. Therefore, darkness covered your heart and the light of righteousness was hidden away from your sight. Yet, you question the Lord for all your folly?
What a shame, oh man, for you have followed the ways of Cain! Envying the things which brought you to desolation. Therefore, your hands was filled with the blood of lawlessness and your innocence was now defiled. But still, you cast your blame unto the Most High?
What a shame, oh man, for you have put your faith on your wealth. Now, your heart is haughty and full of greed. Therefore, your arrogance has brought you down, because a man who is overcome by his folly is a fool indeed. Despite of this you are still proud and unrepentant?
Oh you vainglorious man! Will you not go back to the narrow path? Repent for the Lord is not slack of his promise. When you see that you are lost, remember that God will gladly receive you in loving arms no matter how wretched you are. Embrace his loving grace and he’ll accept you with gladness.
Oh you backsliding Christians! When will you listen to the wisdom of God? Turn away from your wicked ways for there is still hope. When you feel you’re alone, remember God is just a prayer away and he’ll faithfully listen to your supplications. Call on him and you’ll never be alone again.
Oh you arrogant one! How long will you put your seat on high cliffs? Look around you and observe that the world is not for you alone. When you feel no one loves you, remember that the Father loves you so much that he offered his Son for your sake. So give love to others just like how God gave his love to you.
Didn’t the Lord said, that he’ll never leave you nor forsake you? Therefore rejoice, for his words are yea and amen. Let not your heart be troubled nor think of things about tomorrow, for the Lord ways are not yours. Believe, believe and believe! For the Lord shall lead you in the green pastures and still waters (Psalms 23:2) that there may be comfort in your life and soul. Therefore, let not your self loosed from the loving hands of the Shepherd, for he is your all in all and you are his own.
Every time we are troubled, oh Father, make us remember your promise that we may find comfort. Let not the world steal away our hearts from turning away from your love. For what is the world? It is nothing but a den of wickedness. The kingdom of the devil and the seat of his abominations. We beseech you therefore, oh Lord, let the hope in our hearts rekindled with zeal as we reign as conquerors of this world
